Recent photo shoot

About a week ago, I did my first photoshoot with a person. My friend Sarah wanted me take pictures of her in her tutu. We ventured out to bethlehem had brunch at the Blue Sky Cafe (which was incredible) got to see tara who I haven't seen in ages, and then ventured over to Eskandalo (my fav shop in bethlehem) and I introduced sarah to Alison, I waited while sarah got changed and we went out the back and danced up to lehigh. Now Sarah who is incredibly beautiful, and extremly photogenic was a ton of fun to photograph and here are some of my favorite shots!

Def Click on the pictures so they open up in a new window full size!!

Muraling with kids...

Today marks year two of creating art with the kids at the Fine Arts Festival in Bethlehem. CAN communityartistsnetwork does an annual mural with the kids, last year I did it by myself, this year Ben and I are doing it together, two days two different murals, This is from todays...
we had so much fun with the kids, and my friend Silagh came by with her twins bridget and steven and they are two really fantastic children!!
Ben and I got good and dirty, laughed a lot, and had a lot of fun making art with the kids, it was a good day and tomorrow we get to make our second mural! We're working right next to hotel bethlehem at the end of Main St, stop out and enjoy the Art Festival and say hi!

This is a truly beautiful poem by one of my favorite authors

Kahlil Gibran on Love

When love beckons to you, follow him,
Though his ways are hard and steep.
And when his wings enfold you yield to him,
Though the sword hidden among his pinions may wound you.
And when he speaks to you believe in him,
Though his voice may shatter your dreams
as the north wind lays waste the garden.

For even as love crowns you so shall he crucify you. Even as he is for your growth so is he for your pruning.
Even as he ascends to your height and caresses your tenderest branches that quiver in the sun,
So shall he descend to your roots and shake them in their clinging to the earth.

Like sheaves of corn he gathers you unto himself.
He threshes you to make you naked.
He sifts you to free you from your husks.
He grinds you to whiteness.
He kneads you until you are pliant;
And then he assigns you to his sacred fire, that you may become sacred bread for God's sacred feast.

All these things shall love do unto you that you may know the secrets of your heart, and in that knowledge become a fragment of Life's heart.

But if in your fear you would seek only love's peace and love's pleasure,
Then it is better for you that you cover your nakedness and pass out of love's threshing-floor,
Into the seasonless world where you shall laugh, but not all of your laughter, and weep, but not all of your tears.
Love gives naught but itself and takes naught but from itself.
Love possesses not nor would it be possessed;
For love is sufficient unto love.

When you love you should not say, "God is in my heart," but rather, "I am in the heart of God."
And think not you can direct the course of love, for love, if it finds you worthy, directs your course.

Love has no other desire but to fulfill itself.
But if you love and must needs have desires, let these be your desires:
To melt and be like a running brook that sings its melody to the night.
To know the pain of too much tenderness.
To be wounded by your own understanding of love;
And to bleed willingly and joyfully.
To wake at dawn with a winged heart and give thanks for another day of loving;
To rest at the noon hour and meditate love's ecstasy;
To return home at eventide with gratitude;
And then to sleep with a prayer for the beloved in your heart and a song of praise upon your lips.

The right light the right angle

Yesterday at sunset I was waiting in our church parking lot before choir, parked under a tree reading my new craft book called "Big-Ass Book of Crafts" and let me tell you the title lives up to it's content, it's full of really awesome craft projects. My new friend Sarah came over today and while we were supposed to go on a photo shoot, we got rained out so instead we got materials for one of the projects in my book, grabbed lunch and chilled out for a few hours. I started my switchplate tonight and while I still have to add a few layers of gloss to finish it, John is diggin it! Check it out :)

Sound Sleeping and house progress

Men at work I'll post a picture when they're done :)

I am a SOUND sleeper... We had a new roof put on our house last week and it looks incredible, but they still had to come back to put the finish trim up, there's a fancy word for "trim work" that I can't come up with right now and so we'll stick with that! Anyway, I woke up late and realized they were outside working away laughing yelling to each other over the roof, and playing thier music, sawing and hammering away. I'm upstairs sound asleep like twenty feet away without a clue! There is something kind of unsettling about being able to sleep like that! Oh well, I got dressed put some coffee on and went out to say hello and take them some coffee. I can not wait to see the final product!! Again, I know it's boring to most people but I'm very excited to see our house slowly become what my minds eye has seen all along! I can not wait to create my outdoor patio getaway! Here's a pic of the progress on the roof so far!
